New Mabel Fox Hound Print at The Art Hound Gallery

Posted by The Art Hound on

Right on time for the warmer Spring weather, comes Franklin Hound bounding on into The Art Hound. Created by our linocut artist Mabel Fox, we are delighted to announce 10% of the sale price of Franklin Hound at The Art Hound will go to Greyhound Rescue charities, a cause very close to our heart. This will include charities rescuing sight hounds from the dog meat trade and dog slaughterhouses in China.

Franklin Hound currently appears in midnight blue, and is a perfect addition to Mabel Fox print collectors, as it follows the same shape and dimensions as the rest of the Scandinavian inspired Mabel Fox collection. Each print is hand burnished, using eco water based inks - and most collectors love the unique qualities of each print - you'll find a different texture and ink pattern on each one due to the hand made process. Each design is limited to 50 or less in each colour way. We love Mabel Fox prints as a full collection - mix and match designs and colours to create your own unique gallery wall of animals and woodlands, with a contemporary edge of colour. Greys, metallics, blues and ochres in the collection keeps things on trend.

What we love about Franklin Hound here at The Art Hound is that Mabel Fox has referenced that greyhounds were the sacred dog of the Greek Goddess Artemis (in Roman culture as Diana), who was the Goddess of the moon. Hence Franklin appears here in the moonlight... Any Sighthound lover, whether you've got a Whippet, Greyhound, Lurcher, Italian Greyhound, Saluki or Deerhound, will recognise that sweet face and long legs with the ears at 'curious' position!
