As the gallery Assistant working Monday-Wednesday I get the fun job of photographing and cataloguing all the new things that come through the gallery door. I’d like to think that we here at the Art Hound like a bit of the weird and wonderful, and as Lydia Deetz once said “I myself am strange and unusual”. Created by our linocut artist Mabel Fox, we are delighted to announce 10% of the sale price of Franklin Hound at The Art Hound will go to Greyhound Rescue charities, a cause very close to our heart. This will include charities rescuing sight hounds from the dog meat trade and dog slaughterhouses in China.   The Art Hound Gallery is delighted to begin offering works by one of our favourite 1970's screen printers - The German artist Gerd Winner. Whilst not a household name on these shores, his screen prints are mind-blowingly amazing, often focusing on industrial urban architecture of Britain and other countries. ANDY WARHOL VS SUNDAY B MORNING In 1967 Andy Warhol began work on his now iconic ‘Marilyn’ series, immediately following the death of Marilyn Monroe. He produced 10 variations of the image, which was from a 1953 publicity shot for the Film ‘Niagara’, each with its own colour combinations in each portfolio. There were only 250 portfolios ever produced, which has led to these works becoming some of the most sought after in the art world, with the suite of prints reaching over $1.5 million at auction.
