Giuliana was born in Tuscany, Italy, studying art and painting at the Istituto D’Arte Stage Stage in Pietresanta and Accademia Di Belle Arti in Carrara. In 1987, she moved to Yorkshire and currently still resides in the ancient City of York. Giuliana has had many solo exhibitions internationally, including at the Royal Institute of Painters and Royal Institute of Oil Painters at the Mall Galleries, London and features in many public collections in the UK.
Her work encompasses both painting and print making, including the labour intensive medium of linocuts. Her childhood memories of the bright Tuscan landscape and the rolling moors of Yorkshire inspire most of her paintings, and the influence of fellow Yorkshire painter David Hockney is clear to see in her colours, lines, themes and use of acrylic paint.
Nature dominates her linocut prints, with deer, hares and birds featuring alongside the cottages of Yorkshire, the medieval walls of York and the hills of Tuscany, often with a abstract quality. Each original hand-made linocut print, as well as her giclee prints of her paintings are a limited hand signed edition.
