From Fulham to the Fens

The Art Hound Gallery began back in 2012, when the team were based on the King’s Road in Fulham, London. Having sold online, to celebrity private clients, to the trade and the UK’s top art fairs - it was time to open a permanent gallery space to showcase our stock direct to the public. By this point - our team had slowly migrated up the M11 and the opportunity of a beautiful converted barn in Burwash Manor, just outside of Cambridge City centre presented itself. Burwash Manor is a hive of proudly independent British business and retail, with a focus on luxury homewares and food in a stunning rural setting.

We opened on 30th November, for pre-Christmas drinks in an evening event with less than a month to get everything together. All hands were on deck for our gallery manager and directors! It has been an exciting experience to bring together our main collections of Pop Art, St Ives School and French prints with new, upcoming contemporary artists and - for the first time - jewellery makers - working in everything from 18ct gold and diamonds to acrylic. Having a permanent gallery space has finally allowed us to fulfil our ambition of giving our contemporary artists a new audience for their work and explore a focus on original print making and hand-made multiples.

Our gallery is an intimate, vibrant space with ever-changing displays (often daily), but it also where we house most of our stock, so we can easily allow clients to inspect any piece they may have viewed on our website. Our gallery aim is to bring together the best of London contemporary galleries and the new work of top art school graduates from Bristol, Brighton and Scotland to Cambridge. Each piece of work is hand-selected by our small team and we can advise on all related matters - from the artist’s process to the right investment for the buyer.

The Gallery is open 7 days a week from 10am to 4pm, but we are able to open out of hours for art consultations and private clients.

We will be planning exhibitions and events to begin in the summer of 2017, so watch this space and make sure you are subscribed to our mailing list!
